The
rock is something special. And when from the south
the wind is blowing, then you can see a crowd over
Gibraltar, and the residents have a little feeling
from the weather in London. And only some metres
behind the frontier the sun shines.
Flora
and fauna on the monkey´s rock are as well
worthwhile than "The Monkey´s Den"
itself.
Worthwhile
is also the cathedrale St. Michels Cave, the historical
important tunnels in the rock (30 miles/ The Great
Siege 1779-1783), The Military Heritage Centre,
and the Tower of Homage, part of the Moorish Castle,
also the Museum of Gibraltar.
Our
tip: Don´t drive with your car through the
frontier. This can be a bad idea. During the summer
months you must wait sometimes 3 hours in your car
before you can drive through the frontier. On foot
it takes only some minutes to pass the frontier.

Use
a bus to drive to the centre of Gibraltar. Beside
the new busses is still an old bus, with the typical
charme of the good old times. You can have the possibility
to get a short impression of the land and the people
staying here, during the short drive with the bus.

By
the way, if the bus is waiting a longer time on
the road and nothing goes on it is possible that
the traffic light on the airport is red. Then all
cars and pedestrians must wait until the plane rolles
across the road. You see, all is exactly regulated.
